The idea is: protection function repeat shuffle playlists with artists, such as "Do not repeat same artist two hours"

I like this one. I've suggested something along the same lines, where MC could spread out the tracks by an artist equally throughout the playlist. It could be used for other fields as well, such as genre, year, or whatever.

There is some logic there to avoid duplicate artist values back-to-back when you shuffle.

Matt,
More often than not I notice that when shuffling a playlist, MC will do something like this with the artists tracks it picks from:
Rush - Tom Sawyer
Van Halen - Jump
Rush - New World Man
Van Halen - Ice Cream Man
.38 Special - Hold On Loosely
Rush - Working Man
Not that I mind hearing all of that Rush in one setting ;D it just seems that the logic might need a little tweaking when the playlist has 40 or more artists with multiple albums each to choose from.

A good example - rotator radio "Powergold".
Little Powergold in j.River - it would be perfect!
