I don't know if this is a SMF problem or what, but the descenders in my own posts are cutoff--likely due to the edit button.
-
Doesn't happen here.
What browser?
Did you try clearing your cache?
-
Firefox 32.0 -- I cleared my cache and it didn't fix it.
Tried Chromium -- no problems there.
Must be a browser issue.
-
I use Firefox, essentially exclusively.

Does it only happen when you quote people in replies, or always?
And to make sure, you mean the fact that the right-hand side is cut off (scrollbars, etc), correct? Otherwise, I'm not sure what you mean by "descenders"...

No, that was just my screengrab that cut it off. Descenders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Descender) are the portions of some letters that 'descend' below the line. e.g. g j p q y have descenders

Oh yes... Font nerdery. I know that term, of course. Hadn't noticed in the screenshot at all. Also doesn't happen here.
Press Control - 0.
I bet it is your Zoom Level. I've seen Firefox do that with non-default zooms. I bet you have it set to a funky half-notch position, and the rendering engine is getting confused.
-
I'm on Firefox v31. No hassles over here.
-
Zoom is at 100%. Probably just a firefox beta bug. There's plenty, trust me. Considering switching to Waterfox.
