The program crashes every time I try to burn a CD. I run Windows XP with a Compaq Presario 700 with a Backback CDRW. Since I just bought the license within the last 3 days I want a refund. This is only one avenue of documentation for this request.

Did you buy version 7.2 or 8.0? If you purchased version 8.x, then you may want to hang in there. As it is mentioned, it is a beta product which is bound to have problems and issues. As for version 7.x, I doubt this is the version as it is VERY stable...
PS. I do not work for JRiver, I am a customer. And for the money (heck even the free ones too), MJ is the best. Again, if you did purchase 8.x stick it out and you will be happy!!!!

I take it you did use the 30 day trial, didn't you?

i strongly concur, hang with it, it's a brilliant piece of software - and in fact i'd get rid of my compaq first.
in fact i'd get rid of my compaq Anyway.

These guys are right! Even in it's beta form this is the best of it's kind out there. Believe me, I've tried them all. It's the TOTAL all in one package. In fact, I thought it was so good I too laid down the few bucks they asked for it. It's well worth the money!
By the way I also am using MJ with XP and it works pretty darn good. I am still using the 8.0.196 beta as it worked well. The .198 & .199 by the number of post seemed pretty buggy.
If you have to do some burning you can always use XP's WMP until you get your conflict worked out.
