You can go to dinner now because there won't be another build this week. Matt and Nikolay came close but missed by inches.
-
I Had Chicken And Rice, Glass of Red wine (semi sweet), Not Bad
Anyone else have something good for dinner?
-
I had a pepperoni sub.
Thanks guys for not releasing a build tonight. Now I can finally get all of my Divemaster homework done. I still have to draw out an underwater contour map from data I collected on a dive, and it's proving to be a royal PITA.
Anybody good with compasses?
-
>Anybody good with compasses?
Doof I Was In The Artillery Some Of My Military Life, and directed fire on some enemy locations (once on my own OP, not my fault, Really) that was a bad day.
>> Pepperoni sub
sounds good, i take it you had some cheese on it, maybe some sauce?
-
Okay, maybe I don't want coordinate advice from you, then.

Yeah, it was delicious. The bread was toasted... kind of like two french bread pizzas layed on top of each other.
-
i had a home made tomatoes-beans soup, gefelte fish and Ben&Jerry ice cream.Italian merlot in glasses.
-
Almost dinner time here on the "left coast". I will be feasting on a dish called, "Russian Shi# & Rice". The easiest way to describe it is beef, cream of mushroom, sherry, onions, etc. poured over a bed of rice. Yum, Yum!!!! Heck, I may even head to the local liquor store and pick up a bottle of wine...
-
well no one was hurt
I did eat that comander up, and made sure the gunner was transfered to service battery (where all the duds are).
sorry you don't wan't my help but maybe for the best, you may pass without me
by the way i always wanted to go diving since i was a kid
-
PS. I really would have liked to have a new build to play with... I am bummed that I have to rip to WAV and then MP3/VBR encode. No I cannot wait, I am way behind in ripping...

I had 3 cups of coffee and a Pop Tart. Oh wait, that was my breakfast.

Tuna sandwich and Spicier Doritos

I want to remind everyone tomorrow morning BattleBots are on comedy central
other battle bot sites are on my site

King> Just messing with you.
If you hit the target they gave you, then you obviously know your stuff.
Actually though, I think I got this figured out. I think my problem was that I was trying to mark my bearings based on a line running perpendicular to the shoreline, but all of my data was based on magnetic north. But I guess that's what happens when you take survey data in July, and don't actually get around to plotting it out on paper until February.
Now that I have that figured out, I think I got it. Except that I gotta remember some of my geometry. I never was a math-head.
You should try diving. It's really relaxing, a lot of fun, and can be as simple or as complex a sport as you decide to make it. If you want to just do 30' shore dives looking for lobster, that's cool, or if you want to try penetrating a cave system 4.5 miles in and 450' down, you can do that too. That's my ultimate goal.

Cool I am happy to have a break especially as my Dial up is only 31.200KBytes
tonight
MJ 8 is going great.
I had Soba noodles with garlic and herb Tempeh
Delicious

Doof,
Is that before or after you find lin lin's head?
-
been LOL all night, wife thinks i'm crazy
-
imagine a MusicMacth user surfing cnet.com,having a try to MediaJukebox. After a while.he understands that he mays get help on interact.First post"no built tonight"...................
In fact .the software is free, the $25 you pay are for the maintenance of Interact...........
Will pay twice if needed to surf here
-
Doof,
The square of the Hypoteneuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
OR ... A² |PLS| B² = C²
Voila!!! Coordinate Geometry
Or better yet, get a calculator with Polar and Rectangular conversions. Just remember, all bearings are related to North (i.e rather than 356°, enter -4° --- same thing) and are input and output in decimal degrees.
No trigonometry function memorization necessary.

Hey KingSparta, maybe the problem was a mix up with the compasses. GunBunnies are supposed to use a mils compasS for laying a gun and a degree compass for land or sea navigation. And a service battery is not where all the duds are, after all, the mechanics are there to fix what the cannon cockers break... LOL
Robert
P.S. you rag em, we drag em

Charlemagne 8> Where were you in July when I needed you?!?

I had a small bag of dried fruit. Busy night at the brewery. Now you guys are making me hungry.
> and directed fire on some enemy locations...
King, oldie buut goody:
Q: What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers?
A: Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets.
> The square of the Hypoteneuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides...
Careful, Charle, perhaps Doof lives in a non-Euclidean space. Riemannian? Poincare? The usual rules do not apply. Perhaps he was diving in the Bermuda Triangle. Non-Euclidean geometry there would explain a lot of things. http://extra.newsguy.com/~twilight/sounds/tz.wav

Polar plot: = Direction and distance
Deathrider
i was shooting a high angle mission and the base gun was shooting a low angle mission, he miss read the GDU by 100 mils (it was raining), and the safty officer did not check the gun.
the good thing was no one was killed
gun----------op-------------target - inline makes for a bad combo

KingSparta,
>> Polar plot: = Direction and distance <<
When you're talking about targeting, the math gets a whole lot more complicated than that, doesn't it?
Doof,
>> Where were you in July when I needed you?!? <<
Maybe I was in non-Euclidian space. I always thought a Euclid was a giant green earth-moving machine (no, I don't mean the Packers).
"Space" probably does figure in there somewhere.
That Euclid fellow sure didn't have anything much to do. Imagine how bored you would have to get to think that figuring out all of the possible relationships between elements of a triangle was fun.
Charlemagne8 ... also with not much to do.
-
Charlemagne 8
Yes, if your on the gun side they have the"One Arm Bandit", "Bucks" (portable Computer), And Tackfire\Afatads (sp) to figure targeting data for the guns. you need to throw in some met (wind direction, temp, speed) etc...
but on the Fo Side
Polar Plot, Grid, And I forget the 3rd, then add, drop, left, right, once on target, B52 this is D61 3 Rounds, fire for effect, over

Hey Doof. Just to be a complete twit...
You did remember
Can Dead Men Vote Twice At Elections
Right?
In other words, to get from compass to true north:
Compass, Deviation, Magnetic, Variation, True, Add East

This is sounding way too much like private pilot ground school...

Scronch> This is sounding way too much like private pilot ground school...
Have not been. It's from "How not to sail your boat into the reef" school.
Too bad a GPS will not work under water.
-
That's very similar to "How not to fly your aircraft into the mountain".
-
King,
"Fire for effect"
Does that mean you don't really mean it?

King:
(Belatedly) It's all a matter of taste.
