Title: "SBAudigy5/Rx ASIO 96/24" output can't be mapped to 5.1 channel acoustic system
Post by: ivankob on August 17, 2014, 04:02:48 pm
I have tried both channel shift (0,1,2..) & channel swapping (C<->LFE, ..) but failed.
It's definety needed a more flexible option for ASIO channel mapping like - smth like "0,3,5,1,2,4".

AS: "Edifier C6XD" 5.1 (fL,fR,C,LFE,rL,rR)
Soundcard : Creative Audugy5/Rx (EMU10K3), fL->fR->C->LFE->rL->rR.

With waves produced by the audio calibartion tool for 5.1 AS :

"L"->"fL" (correct), R -> fR (correct), "C"->"rL" (wrong), LFE->LFE (correct), "fL"->"C" (wrong), "fR"->"LFE" (wrong).

The Creative driver for Audigy5 doesn't provide any entries for system wide ASIO mapping.

You should be able to get any channel ordering using Parametric Equalizer.

Use the 'Order Channels' filter.

I've only managed it with foobar2000's assistance. Thanx !

Q: does it just reroute digital streams or do some audio processing ?

It just reroutes the streams.

It just reroutes the streams.
Then another issue - wrong channel set generated by the calibration tool for 5.1 AS:

Left : wrong, should be frontLeft, treated as sideLeft thus doesn't play on 5.1
Right : wrong, should be frontRight, treated as sideRight thus doesn't play on 5.1
Center : OK
LFE : OK
backLeft : OK
backLeft : OK
