When I try to play a DXD 352 kHz 2 channel file I get this error message:
"Playback could not be started using the format: 0kHz 32 bit 2 ch.
This format would work: 48kHz 32 bit 2 ch"
The wav file imported into JRiver 19.0.146 just fine and shows a sample rate of 352800Hz
I have downloaded half a dozen DXD files from more than one source and they all give the same 0kHz 32bit message when I attempt to play them.
The files downloaded as zip files which I extracted before importing into JRiver 19
My OS is Windows 8.1
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

Your DAC probably doesn't support 352 khz. If you let MC change it, does it play correctly?
-
If I let MC change it to 48kHz 24bit it does play but my DACs do support 352kHz. I have a Geek Out on one computer and an iFi mirco iDSD on the other computer.

Try changing just 352 to 192 or similar.
-
When I change the output to 192 the file plays but down sampling the output defeats the purpose of DXD files. Also, both ASIO and WASAPI behave the same way.

Matt,
Now this is strange. I took your suggestion one step farther and for the 352800 input set the output to 352800 and it worked. If I have the output set to "No Change" the file won't play but if I set the output the same as the input the file plays through both DACs in both systems.
No idea why this is happening but it works.

Make sure you're on the latest version of MC19, there used to be an issue like this in earlier versions.

Hendrik,
That fixed it. I was using the stable version (19.0.146). When I updated to the latest version (19.0.163) the problem was fixed.
Thanks,
Mike
