Title: Auto Find Genre for mp3's

Hello... You would think that I would know/remember this... But I don't...    ;D

I used to Tag Genre with Artist A-B, Artist C-D etc. Know I am looking for a way to automatically fix them. Is there a plugin floating around that will do it? I tried the update tags from internet but it started to change ALL my tags....

Genres are tricky since there is no real consensus on what they are exactly.

You might look into Musicbrainz Picard or lastfmtagextractor to pull in the genres from last.fm based on artist.

Genres seems to be an incredibly personal and arbitrary assignment.  I do not find any consistency in any of the online services (MusicBrains, Discogs, All Music etc...).

I found the best way for me was to simply select a group of Artists and / or tracks and edit the tags myself in MC.

(btw everything I really like that is even remotely "Rock" automatically gets added to the Progressive Rock Genre  lol!)

Picard works best for me. Would love to see a plugin for this in JR.
