Having issues playing Hybrid Multi-channel/stereo SACD ISO with stutter on each buffer fill when playing the stereo mix. Running with memory playback disabled and 20 second pre-buffer. Have a multitude of 2 channel SACD ISOs which all play fine, but the most recent one, which is a Hybrid Multi-channel/stereo SACD ISO stutters a regular (approx 10 sec) intervals.

If you check CPU usage in Task Manager, does it happen to look something like this, with big spikes of activity every few seconds?

CPU utilization is 33% at 20 sec buffer, 16% at 10 sec & 13% at 6 sec. All these buffer settings cause stuttering. Also copied the SACD ISO to a local HDD from the NAS (at 110MB/sec), but it did not make any difference to the stuttering.
Does the same thing on 2 x PCs with different setups (1 running v19.0.163 and the other running v20.0.10), both Core i5 (1 is 2500k, the other is 4590s)

Are you using antivirus software?
-
one machine does (i5 2500k) which is a regular Win7 desktop with nod32 AV and minimal DSP. The other is a dedicated HTPC that runs no AV or firewall and is running Convolution filters (which stutters slightly worse).
-
Remove convolution (as a test).
Are the files local?
-
I tested copying the ISO to a local hard drive on my Windows 7 desktop machine (running v20.0.10 currently) which doesnt run convolution and still have the stuttering every few seconds (dependent on size of pre-buffer setting).

bump.
Is it an issue with the file layout? I am not trying to play the multi-channel mix, only the stereo version.

Try limiting Media Center to three CPU cores via the Task Manager. (right-click Media Center's process and use "Set Affinity")
I'm curious to see whether that helps with your problem.
