Hey I saw a really need dj program "djpower"... It was pretty similiar to media jukebox except that it had a clock....What would it take for somebody to put a clock in a plugin ?
-
don't windows have a clock?
don't see a point
-
a clock?
we want a shrubbery! Then . . .
. . . you must find... another shrubbery . . .. [and] when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get the two-level effect with a little path running down the middle.
-
Nee!
-
What have shrubberies every done for us?

A friend of mine is just evaluating 7.2 as he doesn't want to go the beta track. He had an idea that might be of interest for some of you.
He's missing a column in playing now that would show the start time of a song. So he could arange his songs in a way that a special song is played at a certain time which would alert him of somthing he's supposed to do.
-
Oh right !
You mean like "Cranberries - Wake Up And Smell The Coffee.mpc" at 7 a.m. ?
-
Cmagic,
not excactly, that would be done by mediascheduler... more like sitting at home, doing some computerstuff in the afternoon, settingup a current playlist in playing now and adjusting it that 'Kate Bush - Coffee Homeground' is playing just in time to get the coffee ready once his girlfriend get's home from work (she's a teacher, so she would come home in the afternoon...)
-
what Ingo said
>that would be done by media scheduler
check the help files, but it works i played with it once

I was just about to post this in another thread, but it might go well here.
If I remember correctly, Media Scheduler can only be set to "start" MJ (and MJ has to be closed first), it can't be set to simply start playing a particular song, playlist, or radion station if MJ is already open playing something else.
I was going to ask: I want to listen to the CBC's "As it Happens" every night from 6-8, and would like to schedule MJ not to "open" at 6 (because it will most likely already be open) but to start "playing" the cbc (and to open and play if MJ happens to be closed).
Perhaps there is some trick I could use to make it happen?

Lise,
The current Media Scheduler have the ability to add Custom Task where you insert the application path and its Command line parameter. For your particular task, choose "Start Custom Task", then select the path to Media Jukebox.exe and in the command line you put in "/Play" then the url to the broadcast. Or you could do it from Command Shortcuts, select "Play a media file" and replace <
ATH_TO_A_MEDIA_FILE> with the url to CBC. You could save the command as a shortcut if you want to. And if you want to record it, start the custom task where you connect to CBC, maybe one minute prior to 6, then add another action "Start Recording" at 6, and MJ would record it for you. You do not have to worry about whether MJ is already opened or closed.

Lise,
Raymond wrote Media Scheduler. Thanks for your work on this. I like your idea about tips and the users who provide them.

Wow, Raymond, that is fabulous! I had no clue you could do this. You know, I haven't said it in a while, and I've certainly never said it quite like this, but "like, gee this program rocks!"

it's awesome of you to say so.
