I like the look and feel of MJ8, especially the customizable toolbar, columns, visualisations etc.
Is it also possible to let us choose the background color and font size/color of the play navigator ? (the place where you click on play, next, etc.)
It is hard to read the yellow/white font on a grey background on my portable and I would like the font-size/color and the size of the box bigger seperate from the general font.

Well, that would ruin the dowdiness.

and we like the dowdiness--it's comforting, like grandama's couch
-
It doesn't look dowdy to me...

It's the same colour as my grandma's hair! You mentioned a program that you use to make adjustments in the WinXP UI, and I searched for it but all the sites that I found were dead, and now I can't even remember the name (stylexp?). Please advise.

When I was younger I'd make snide remarks about BHLOLs (Blue-Haired Little Old Ladies) What we have here is a BHLOMJ. But I kinda like it.
What I'd really REALLY to go along with this is alternating color (you know, like old greenbar 'computer paper') lines in the lists. Kall me kooky, but really the only interface thing that I like on those new-fangled type applications.
