Title: slow to sync
Post by: aqus on August 31, 2014, 08:30:51 am
Hi when I connect my usb that I want to sync which has approx 15g of mp3 on it it takes ages to load upto 10 minutes. It says working...  Is it normal? Everytime I want to add songs to my usb I hesitate just not to wait so long.
Is there something I am doing wrong?

Transferring lots of small files usually does take a long time over USB.

it's not really the transferring that I am talking about.
I plug in the usb to add a song and it takes about 10 minutes just to read the usb.after that once all the files on the usb appear i can transfer other songs and that is reasonably fast.

It's scanning the drive for files. I have a 16GB microSD card that I sync fairly regularly and it will usually take 3-4 minutes, so 10 minutes seems a bit excessive if that's really the case.

You might try reformatting the drive and starting from scratch. Maybe try a different filesystem like exFAT if all of your devices are compatible. You could also try a different USB port.

It could also just be a slow flash drive.
