Title: The Fosbury Flop
Post by: JimH on August 31, 2014, 07:27:18 pm
In the late 1960's, Dick Fosbury revolutionized the high jump.

He went over backwards.  It looked awkward, but he won a gold medal at the Olympics with an Olympic record jump of 7' - 4 1/4".  The press called his technique the Fosbury Flop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Fosbury).

Now everybody does it, but before Dick, everyone didn't.  Face first they went.

JRiver did a Flop this month.  We just made it over a big milestone last evening.  We had a record month, not by inches, but by a foot.  About 25% above last year.

Thank you.

I thought that too at first, but look carefully and you'll see that individual only has one hump.

Well done JR!

I recognised Jim in this clip but I'm not sure about the rest of the team :)

that was team one media jukebox version 1 to 5, they are working on team two that's why you did not see the current team.

I was thinking that media center is like new foam padding

Quote
With the advent of deep foam matting high jumpers were able to be more adventurous in their landing styles and hence experiment with styles of jumping.

so media center allowed users to play their music and be more adventurous, and experiment with styles
