the brunt of my listening is non-classical.
however on days I have a writing deadline or just want to sit in peace and read, I enjoy listening to classical music.
one folder on my HDD contains all "non-classical" and one contains nothing but classical.
how to set this up?
id rather have the libraries completely seperate, like seperate zones or something . I dunno!

Do all your files have a Genre tag? ie.. Is classical music is tagged with the Genre Classical?
-
yes. playlist?

When you say "Set this up" what do you want your end result to be? Are all the files already in MC?
You can have views based on Genre. One view you would exclude all the certain Genres you wanted, the other view would include just those Genres.
Playlists would work also. Like I said, I am not exactly sure what the real end result you are looking for.

You could create multiple user accounts and configure one not to show the selected genres. Then you just switch users on the fly.

ohh..That's good!

didn't know that thanks
You could also exclude/include simply by Filename (path). This might be simpler, bear in mind that if you change your hard drive path structure you would have to adjust the rule accordingly. What Ken suggested wouldn't matter, as the tag would not change regardless of its location.

Many ways to skin this cat.
I don’t like multiple libraries, one doesn’t have an overview of the entire collection.
I don’t like rules based on tags like genre because each time a new genre is added you either have to adapt the rules or edit the genre.
I simply define views with rules based on folders.
In my case this is rather stable.
