Hi there, I assume you could search for 1hrs worth of MP3's using the advanced search function of MJ8 but I am not sure how it works?
-
Normaly i just type something in
or
you can type in the field your looking for (there are short cuts for the fields) or you can use the advance tab
Artist field
Artist="Bill Black"
Or
Artist=[Bill Black]
Or
Ar="Bill Black"
Or
Ar=[Bill Black]

Hi Dave,
No you can't search on a total length for a serie of tracks, though that would be nice.
What you can do is search on the length for a particular track.
For example you can search for songs with a rule like
length=<60 length=>300 (not quite sure of the syntax, I have no MJ handy on my UltraSparc !)
To select songs that are shorter than 1 mn and longer than 5 mn to create a "short and long tracks" skip playlist.
If you want to create a 1 hour long playlist, you have to check the length of your playlist
in the status bar as you build it !
I don't know if there is a smarter way,
anybody ?
Cheers

There's currently no way to limit the result size of a search. You have to do that post-search. (by only selecting the files you want and looking and the status bar or something)
Otherwise, we think it would be too confusing when one smartlist had different results each time it was run. (i.e. 100 rock songs if you had 1000)
Take care.

By the way
you can search comment field, but i noticed it is not in the advance button
-
King, you can search on like 20 fields, but we only provide the "Wizard" for the most common types, so as to avoid confusion.
