Title: "Please backup your library and your license"
Post by: Scronch on February 05, 2002, 11:37:57 pm
After seeing Paul at halftime last Sunday,
I thought this Lennon/McCartney tribute may
be fitting for some Interact readers (modified
slightly from the email I received):
_______________________________________________

Yesterday,
All those backups seemed to waste my day
Now my license file has gone away
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Suddenly,
There's not half the songs there used to be
And King and Doof are making fun of me
The system crashed so suddenly

I pushed something wrong, what it was I couldn't say
Now my license's gone and I long for yesterday-ay-ay-ay

Yesterday,
The need to backup seemed so far away
Thought my license file was here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm

Careful Scronch - the RIAA will be on you for copyright violation.

That was really cute Scronch!  Funny...  Cute....

I like the idea of some new words to "Help" also.

You know how Sonique and Winamp come with a sample MP3 that plays the first time they start up?

I think somebody needs to record that and make it MJ's. Next Page

Here's what you get when you give somebody who's desperately trying to avoid doing his homework an idea and a copy of Sound Forge (plus a very cooperative girlfriend and a mild case of insomnia).

Scronch, I present to you, your vision.

Bravo, Bambi!  Can't wait for the video (Doof?).  For take 2, I've pulled the "Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm" part, http://home.wi.rr.com/roensch/temp/yes-end.mp3  I think we're on to something!  Shall I post my credit card number so you know where to credit the royalties?

Doof, I heard a quiver in her voice.  You did keep your hands on the keyboard at all times, didn't you?

Yeah, we wondered what to do about the ending... that was a midi file playing in the background that I found on the net(wasn't me playing! I don't have a musical bone in my body), and it went on for far longer than the lyrics we had. So I just had her start humming along so I could do a fade out or something.

I think the quiver in her voice was from trying not to laugh. I kept cracking up everytime she sang that "King and Doof are making fun of me" line. Next Page

All in all, I think it came out alright considering we recorded the whole thing all at once off my Logitech QuickCam's microphone. Next Page  There's some little glitch at the end, where MJ seems to skip a little and play the last half second over again (at least it does here), but it's only MJ that's doing it. It doesn't show up in Media Editor, Sound Forge, or WMP. Next Page
