I am having an issue burning a disc from music library. It keeps coming up"error writing cd text",and then the disc pops out prematurely. Any suggestions?
-
You could try turning off the write CD text option in Options > Burning.
-
I tried that and it still won't work.
-
I tried all weekend and it will not burn cd. It prints the paperwork and cover art, but that's all.
-
That sounds like CD Labeler. Use the Burn CD feature in the Action Window (lower left corner).
-
I also have problems with burning.
After I confirmed that the disc will be closed, a box pops up with the text: "Can't start the write"
MC 20.0.14 on Windows 7. I have the same problem on two machines.
-
Sorry for the burn problem, it's been fixed for the next build. Thanks for the reports.
-
I'm using mc20 on a trial basis. Hopefully this issue will be working before trial is over so I know whether to purchase
-
There's usually a new build available every 3-5 days.

Im having trouble burning CD's as well, I haven't been able to burn CD's in MC 19 or MC 20 that I just purchased? Help Please?

I thought I was going nuts when this happened to me too.

Issue with my computer/resolved.
same issue "can't start write" error. Confirmed logged in as Administrator, and at 20.0.47 . Have tried three different CD/DVD burners with fresh media. I can burn from Windows Media Player without issue.

I don't know if this will help or not - but there are several "ripping" forums that discuss issues with burning disks and many times it is the burners firmware or the blank disks that cause the problem.
The Slysoft forum is a good source of info. https://forum.slysoft.com/index.php
Perhaps you can check to see if you have the latest firmware see the link: https://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?18731-Firmware-updates
And the same site says: Try Verbatim Datalife Plus, Maxell Broadcast Quality, Maxell Plus series, or Taiyo Yuden (not Valueline or Trublu). Do not use Memorex, generic/regular Maxell, Princo, TDK from Costco, Fuji, nor Ritek. If you use junk blank media then you should expect problems. If you're going to make a double layer backup use Verbatim + R DL media (preferably made in Singapore) or MAM-A +R DL 8x only; I find most burners will burn Verbatim +R DL (made in Singapore) well at 4x (to be safe); other burners can burn this stuff at 6x or higher with no problems. Get to know your burner.
For +R, +RW, and +R DL blank media, change the booktype of the blank media you're using to "DVD-ROM", if your burner supports bitsetting changes. This step improves the chances of playability in/compatibility with (standalone, mostly) DVD players. The best way to do this is through the software that came with your burner (if possible): if you own a Plextor drive, use Plextools; if you own a Lite-on burner, use Lite-on's bitsetting utility, etc.
To find out who made you blank media (if you don't know for sure) see: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
Good Luck.
