Title: issues with TEAC UD501
Post by: markol on September 20, 2014, 02:57:09 pm
Hi, everybody
I've got few questions:
Every time I add any album/albums playlist by adding song-by-song or .cue/m3u playlist file next thing happens:
Song starts for a second then stops for 2,3,4 seconds and then continues... I've tried to set everything to "gapples" then to "gapped" but problem still persist.
How to solve this?
There is something I don't understand about 2xDSD streaming with my TEAC. Dac is set to do upsample to 5.6MHz or 2xDSD in native DSD palyback (that's my goal) and when is about PCM or DXD, I can see on DAC's display it's showing DSD 5.6MHz. But when I play real DSD it's only goes to 2.8 MHz.I've used TEAC ASIO DRIVER, JRiver 19, JRiver 20 asio, but with same results. Then I found on this page solution for my problem

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=83101.0

Everythin is working but when I go to player/audio path it says that is 2.8 MHz "all the way"  ... but still, on TEAC's dispay it is 5.6MHz... (?)
What part of this am I not getting right? Can somebody help me understand this?

Yesterday I've tried to reinstal/update TEAC USB AUDIO DRIVER from .102 that is already on my PC to .103 posted on ther official internet site. When I've started ti install 64bit version of the software, I've recieved this message: "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid." I get this even when I'm trying to uninstall driver from "ad/remove programs" in control panel...
what can it be? Where am I going wrong?

Thanx a million

I've solved an issue with an old TEAC USB ASIO DRIVER with "Microsoft FixIt" software tool. This thing with ASIO drivers and seting of TEAC DAC is all that is left to be fixed in order to prepare my PC for Phill's AudiophileOptimizer - final step in building my computer-based audio system...
Any ideas?

Please don't use any "optimizers".  They often cause problems, and they aren't necessary.

" Optimizer " is something I've palned to "add" in the future.. More about it here

 http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f10-music-servers/whos-used-audiophile-optimizer-windows-2012-server-or-windows-8-a-17897/

..but I still didn't found solution for two question of mine from first post:

 - when playback starts, song is playing for a second, then stops for 3-5 seconds then continues with no problems after that... no pops, clicks... this hapens from time to time... What could it be?

 - I've set output to 2xDSD in JRiver, driver is foo_dsd_asio ( same as "Archimagio" 's settings) but no DoP, native ASIO in my case... but when I go to player / audio path i get : input 2.8 MHz / no changes are made / output 2.8 MHz... On TEAC display is 5.6MHz ...
Any explanation?
Thanx
