Title: How to get tag from MKV filetype?
Post by: NNTK on September 25, 2014, 08:35:16 pm
I want to get codec names for all audio and subtitle track. And get language tag from each audio and subtitle.

Thank you.

Agreed, having the different language audio streams and subs tagged on import would be extremely useful.  A significant minority among us have friends and family not fluent in english  ;)
Also, there is already a standard language tag (list type), a subtitles tag (list type) does not seem to exist in the standard MC tags.  This would be useful.

Cheers

Oh yes, that is my purpose.

Can you improve "Compression" standard tag to contain list of all video, audio and subtitle plus language?
Such as, In present compression: "mkv video (video: h264, audio: ac3)" improve to "mkv video (video: h264|en, audio: ac3|en; aac|en, subtitle: ASS|en; VobSub|en)"

Best Regards.
