Title: Another License Problem [Solved]
Post by: Norton on October 01, 2014, 12:56:15 pm
Was sent a registration code for 20 back in August, but only used it for first time yesterday.

using install license inside MC20 I got error message re.communicating with license server.

Was told by JR to apply the temporary file directly but I'm not even getting an email with the file and even after asking JRiver to add another email address (apparently hotmail addresses are not getting through, although I had no problems registering for this forum).

I then tried to use restore page but seems to need a password which I have forgotten and without any facility to reset password.

I just want to install my license  - help anyone?

If you're not on Debian, you may need to do it via the commandline as described here: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=89893.msg625048#msg625048

yes I have already noted that thread - the problem is I haven't got " a recent .mjr file"
My emails from JRiver are plain text - no link from which to save a file.

They should have an attachment.  Perhaps the e-mail program is including it in-line.  Is there an option to save it?

Solved

a bit confusing..no .mjr file attached to emails I guess because restore from within MC20 wasn't successful.
JRiver sent me new registration code which allowed me to generate .mjr file from restore page (without needing a password this time) and I then successfully applied file via command line
