Title: trying to make simple search list for "greatest hits", not wokring
Post by: tcman41 on October 11, 2014, 03:35:46 pm
I am trying to make a simple search list called "greatest hits"

in my search list string via the wizard I put in 5 rules, album contains 'best', album contains 'greatest' etc but now the album results have to contain all of these rules and of course the search comes up empty.

I am looking for the modifier in the search wizard where I can make one rule, album contains 'greatest', 'best', 'hits'...etc

what is the modifier, meaning this OR that, is it brackets, commas etc, dont see this info anywhere.

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Terry  :)

Snap 75 shows the quick way, Snap 76 gives the same results with a little more work, but shows the 'supported' approach.

Using the wizard to reproduce snap 76, you would add the three rules, then, click where you see the parenthesis in the screen shot to add them, and so "OR" the rules instead of the default "AND"

Hope that helps.

Worked like a charm, obviously the 'custom' rule is what I was really missing.

thanks
