I have two computers, my main PC and a HTPC downstairs. All my flacs are stored upstairs and each folder is shared and the network drive is mapped downstairs. A few days ago all the tracks were successfully imported into jriver downstairs, except now it just says "file not found". Nothing has changed. Any ideas?
-
What is even more perculiar is that I can go into the mapped network drive in windows and play the flac using another programme...
-
i gotta ask if the pc with the files is turned on when u try to access them with the 2nd pc.....
-
of course - as I ust said I can load the flac on another program
-
and that folder is in auto import on the 2nd pc as well?
-
correct
-
well we will wait for a GURU to answer as i have a set up identical to yours with no problems
-
do you never periodically lose connection?
-
i can't say that i have
-
On the upstairs computer (HTPC) can you see the files on the downstairs computer if you are in MC Standard View and go to Audio>Files or by using the Drives & Devices>Explorer?
Is the HTPC setup as a "client" with the downstairs computer being the "server" in MC?
-
How do I set/see which is client and server?
Just to be clear, its the upstairs computer where everything else, the downstairs one is the HTPC which just reads from the network
-
How do I set/see which is client and server?
tools>options>general>features>...look under features to see if 'Media Network (Library server, DNLA, ect) is checked.....
i have used this but a long time ago so not sure where else to look if it is checked....MINE IS NOT CHECKED...be sure to check both pc
-
Both are checked
-
well that may be the problem then....uncheck them close MC on both pc and then open them and see what happens...can't hurt cuz u can always check em again....but i suspect its the problem if both want to be the server or both r a client....
