Title: Video Conversion Formats, Explained.
Post by: emastroi on October 13, 2014, 03:39:04 pm
I have some DVD's & BD's I want to put on a HD to stream to the TV from J River via a PS3. Is there some kind of support document that explains the differences of each one video conversion format J River offers? Or at least something that describes the optimal formats for DVD & BD to maintain the highest possible video\audio quality using a 10GB or less file size?

Thanks.

Thankfully in your case. If you know the destination that make it a lot easier. http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/video/filetypes.html

However there aren't many setting to document in jriver for video conversion.
H264 discribes the video codec
Ts discribes the container. File.ts
AutoFPS sets the frame rate to variable.

Personly I don't find this is enough control for me. I use xmedia encoder or handbreak
But test jriver yourself with a small video and see how it goes.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of using Handbrake but wasn't sure it was necessary.

I'll give it a shot.
