Hi all,
It's my first time trying the MC software and I am impressed by the list of features for us audio- and video-philes. Unfortunately, my first experience is not the most positive as the audio on any video file I play pops and clicks. I have tried everything from shutting down every possible service running to playing with buffers and bit depth and the like.
It only seems to be happening when I feed the audio through DIRAC LIVE, not when I play it directly through WASAPI.
Now interestingly, this doesn't happen with XBMC, that plays through DIRAC without any issues.
CPU utilisation is under 50%, still there is a bit of delay, catching up on the video sometimes. The DSP gain on DIRAC is set to minimum to avoid any clipping. DIRAC is not reporting any.
I don't know if any of you have experience with DIRAC LIVE and JRiver. I would appreciate any help you could give me to fix this issue.
Thanks,
RJ

No one has an idea? I guess it's time to reinstall the computer.

If you explain your situation a bit better, such as your hardware and setup, it might result in a bit more help...

That definitely wouldn't be my first suggestion, and I'd guess it is unlikely to help.
Have you searched the forum for dirac live?
-
Good idea, I haven't done that yet.
Anyhow reinstalled audio drivers and river plus set DSP gain to minimum on dirac and popping seems to be gone. Most certainly a LOT better than before. I'll let you know of it comes up again. Thank you :)

Yeah. If it comes up again, ask and search before doing anything drastic. I know a bunch of very experienced users here use the Dirac Live, so you should be able to get some good assistance with that if you're a bit patient.
