Title: Hardware volume control knob
Post by: J-a-k-e on October 19, 2014, 03:12:25 pm
I'm looking for ideas for a volume control knob device? Something with a nice tactile feel that I can map to the jriver's internal volume. Something along the lines of the griffin power mate would be ideal if not for the lack of driver support for the current version of windows.

From what I can see the guys from Griffin really don't give a hoot about Windows 7-8 users (wow! who heads up the Brains Trust who made the decision?).

If you've got the IT skills, you could follow this guy's lead:

Too hard for an average Joe like me. The quick search I did on the net came back with a lot of negative Windows experience.

I'd be investigating whether you could make this work:

Here's the manual for Windows:

The vendor has at least got their hardware working with Windows 8 at some level. If you go down that path, report back with your experience. All the best.
