Title: Media Center Mac Cannot Be Opened (Gatekeeper Error)
Post by: glynor on October 19, 2014, 05:00:17 pm
Depending on the Gatekeeper settings on your Mac, you may be unable to open a new installation of Media Center.  If you receive the following error message when you attempt to launch MC:

Please read this wiki article for assistance:

Please note: As of MC Mac 20.0.24, the signature does not work properly with OSX 10.9.5 (Mavericks) and later, including Yosemite.  JRiver is aware of this issue (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=92690.msg638876#msg638876) and will correct the signature problem in a future version.

For now, you do not need to modify the security settings on your Mac to get MC to run.  Please refer to the article linked above for further information.  I will update this thread when the issue has been resolved.

As of MC 20.0.28 this issue has been resolved, and MC should now pass the OS Gatekeeper check with the default settings.  The above-linked Wiki article should only be required if you are using non-default settings for Gatekeeper (with it locked to App Store apps only).

Really nice job by John.  I thought this was going to be more scary.  He made it look pretty easy.  Nice!
