Title: Is there a way to hide channels based on "No signal" being returned
Post by: Castius on October 27, 2014, 11:18:18 am
I get my tv list from the Download EPG option.
But i pay for the least channels. From my provider.  So i'd like to sort out the channels i don't get.

What is the best way to do this?

Thank you.

There is no automatic ways of doing this.  You can run Edit Channel List tool and hide all channels that you know you do not have signals for.

Tools > Options > Television > Advanced > Edit Channel List...

You can select multiple channels and then click Hide button.

I was hoping you wouldn't say that.  :(

I also know it's not a 100% reliable method and slow-ish.
Are there plans to add this in some way?

No.  We can not guess what user's cable plan is.

When there is no signal on a particular channel, the problem could be temporary.  In that case it would be dead wrong to hide the channel on behalf of the user.

It's a little faster to edit Options > Television > Hidden channels

Is there a cmd i can run set hide/show per channel?
I don't' see a cmd i can use.
I'd like to try to get the list from my tuner and set it that way.

Looks like i can get a json file this way.
