I am trying to uninstall MJ 7.2.280 (so that I can start over clean, without anything that might conflict with anything else - I have been experiencing odd behavior, so as a first step, I am starting over clean).
I have run the UNINSTALL program - which seems to run successfully. However, if I look in the Add/Remove Programs menu, MJ is still there. I have tried reinstalling and uninstalling several times and it still seems to show up in Add/Remove.
I have removed every registry entry for J River I could find in the resgistry - still shows up in Add/Remove.
I have deleted all of the folders that MJ created - still shows up.
Any advice? I am running Windows 2000 Professional on a Dell Pentium 4.
Thanks...

Must be something wrong with your windows setup..
Microsoft had a Tweek program that would allow you to remove a program if for some reason the uninstall failed.

Try checking out
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
And see if Media Jukebox is listed. If it is, delete it.
Although I don't think this will cause any problems. If you install it now, it should just overwrite that key and everything will be ok.

Thanks ..... I will try it.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with the same result, so it seems that re-installing does not cure whatever the problem is.
Will let you know what happens.

Well, let's go at it this way...
What's the odd behavior that you're experiencing?

Doof: Thanks .... your suggested edit to the registry worked. I am starting with a clean slate now.
The odd behavior I have been seeing (and hoping that reinstalling will address) was that MJ would lock up anytime I tried to edit a list of songs in the "playing now" window. I'd have to kill MJ in the task manager and then restart it, which gets annoying.
I am hopeful that a clean install (with MusicMatch and Winamp wiped clean from my machine) will yield more predictable results. If not, to quote Arnold, I'll be back .....

Hi ....
One more odd behavior to add to the list: in 7.2.280, if you are playing a song, hit "pause", and then try to close MJ completely, it hangs. Not sure why, but it always happens. No big deal, it takes a few extra steps to close MJ if I forget than I am in pause, but it may be indicative of something else going on .....
