Hello,
I know how to import the front jacket of a ripped cd and to display it in the player, but what if I want to import back jacket or booklet pages and then display them in the player ?
Thank you for your help

I asked this a long time ago. Unless something has changed MC only supports adding a single picture file. So only the front cover.
You would have to use a different tagging app to add additional pictures.
To me though I love JRiver this is one of it's short comings. I like to add at least front, Back and 1 additional be it CD Label or Group / Artist picture etc... But I had to give that up when I started using MC.

You can do that with JRemote's newer versions, for info. Even add liner notes.
You can embed secondary images in different tracks. When the track change, the image changes. The Main image will be the first image (and the associated folder.jpg file.) You do not need an external tag editor do do so .... select track 2 right click Cover art and chose how you want to do it

Sorry. I am not sure I am understanding. Are you saying that I can now add multiple / additional images embedded into my FLAC music files?
If so how? I still only see the "Add From File", "Paste From Clipboard", "Get From Internet", "Get From Scanner" options. All of which as far as I understand adds or replaces only the first image in each file.

You are right. I just wanted to point out that you don't need an external app to do this.
You cannot embed more than one image per file. But you can embed 1 different image in each file. So you could embed the front cover in file track 1, the back cover in file for track 2, something else in track 3 etc. So for a 10 track album, in theory you can have 10 pictures.
Maybe not what you want, thats why I mentioned JRemote which has a new "asset" mode that is not linked to the tracks themselves. There might be a way to make a track info plugin just for standard view, but you would have to tweak one of the existing ones to show multiple images at the same time.

But we do need an external app to do what the Opp and I were talking about. Specifically adding more than one embedded image per file.
I am interested though in what you were talking about "Asset Mode" on JRemote? Is this a way to view other images in the album folder or something? How do I access or enable it on my iPhone?
Carl.

well you click on the info button and there are now 3 choices, metadata, biography and assets. You can put as many images as you want in there and scanned booklet in pdf. As long as they are put into the album folder with the tracks being played. Quite simple but genius really.

Hmmm. Weird. I thought I read something about this some time back. But I could not find it in JRemote. I still can't. When I click on the "Info" button I get options for "Search", "Edit", "Metadata" and "Artist Bio".
I also get "Lyrics" if they are embedded in the track.
I don't see any "Assets" option?
Carl.

Well, what a pity ! The booklet is part of a disc, and it's too bad that it cannot be viewed in jriver!
-
I store PDFs, JPGs etc as files in the same folder as the album.
Using "Locate" to view their content

make sure you are up to date with the newest version. Also, I believe you need IOS7 (you do not need version 8 though). its a tab to the right of Metadata and Artist BioI store PDFs, JPGs etc as files in the same folder as the album.

yes good to note Vincent. Not terribly practical in remote device or for those in theatre view though. You can make a multiple media type View for images and data as well. That might work in JRemote, but you would have back out of the current view I believe.

Still not seeing this. I don't have a tab to the right of Metadata and Artist Bio unless there are embedded lyrics, Then I get the Lyrics Tab. But no "assets" tab.
I always update my apps to the latest versions available so I presume I have the latest version (Listed as "3.09" in the app). I am running IOS 8.1 as of today.
I have gone through the settings and don't see any option to turn this feature on (Or off). Is it possible they removed it for IOS 8 for some reason?
Have been looking forward to this ever since I read about it (I think in an update posting somewhere).
Carl.

You only get the asset tab if there is stuff in the album folder (eg. Beatles/Revolver/folder.jpg, linernotes.pdf, backcover.jpg) it will not show if you stick the artwork somewhere else.

don't think so although support for IOS8 is the last update dated 29/10. I haven't tried IOS8 yet.
Maybe for PDFs you have to have imported them to the JRiver database and did you check the Data feature in Options=>Features.
If there is nothing in the album folder, the tab will be hidden, but usually you have a folder or cover.jpg in each, so the data feature would not be needed
My best guesses anyways :)

Hmmm This is very strange. I always have multiple image files in each and every album folder with at the very least folder.jpg.
Where is this "Options=>Features" you mention? I don't see any "Options" under "JRemote" settings? and I don't see any "Features" in the "Options" dialogue for MC 20?

it under the General tab near the bottom Carl. Or just type features in the search box

Ok I found the "Features" settings in MC. Pretty much everything in there is checked except for "Show In Tree" and "TV" neither of which I use.
But in JRemote I still only have (After clicking the "i") "Search" and "Edit" at the top and "Metadata" and "Artist Bio" at the bottom no matter which track I am on. And all of my album folders have multiple images in them with a "Folder.jpg" file as well.
Should I uninstall JRemote and re-install it to see if maybe it did not update properly or something? It seems to run just fine and I stream even across cellular data to the car when I am out and about. Most of the time I even stream FLAC files without Transcoding (Only run into issues with this sometimes with 24Bit / 96KHz and higher stuff.)
But no "Assets" tab / option.

sorry Carl, I'm out of ideas for you. I did notice that Les Paul said the paper clip which showed up before disappeared on teh current version .. might affect this. Just seems to work for me. :-\
Maybe you should start a separate post in the "Remote" part of the forum. That LesPaul (the dev) would respond to you directly.
Sorry I couldn't help more

No problem. Thanks for your help so far.
At least I know that I just wasn't finding it now.
