Title: what is 'MPC'??
Post by: shAf on February 18, 2003, 08:08:39 am
MJ8's file association refers to 'MPC' as "MPEG Plus" ... but other contexts for 'MPC' refer to it as "MusePac".  Are these 2 encoding formats the same?  If not, is MJ8 capable of MusePac encoded audio files?

MPC, MPP or MP+ is the extention of Musepack format or MPEG Plus

and the background for this is that the format originally was called MP+ (mpeg plus). The name of the format was changed about a year ago to mpc (musepack)

Does that make it a poor choice? What about WMA, major support there, so it must be the best choice?

Have you tried Windows Media Center 9?

The new encoding is really good

VBR encoding at around 300Kbps, and they also have Lossless encoding.

MPC and APE here don't want M$ "wonderfull" format here, one thing that still have my attention is WMV 9 and WMA with 5.1 support but Vorbis OGG also supports that

So, Machinehead, I've been thinking we ought to have a Third Annual Reunion of MJ/MC'ers.  How about Lindstrom or Maple Grove or whatever place it was you settled recently?  July 4?  I could cut down the last dead apple tree and bring a truckload.  We could get a piglet somewhere and fly zevele in by air freight.

I hear Lise is available for the float.

What do you say, Mike?  Therese?  (I hope it's Therese)

Are you sure they would even let zevele on a plane? I think I know where to get a piglet. Just don't ask how. Lise on a float...I'm assuming its not rootbeer. And how many apple trees did you cut down? Hope they weren't from one the orchards around there.

Teresa <--- Her way of spelling things

Thinking about much to much things. And not really pleasant ones to get a sleep.
