Hello,
I recently tried the "portable installation" (or maybe "standalone installation", don't remember the exact wording) of MC20 on a removable USB drive.
MC 20.0.21, Windows 8.1
The install worked fine, and I then configured the autoimport to import music files located on the same drive as the installation drive (say G:).
I can then browse all my library, but no cover art is visible (only the default icon), and no file is playable: it appears that all library items (soundtracks) refer a physical file called "G:nstall Drive):\Music\xxxx\yyyy.wma" (quotes not included). This name is of course invalid.
I managed to patch the binary library files ("field (filename).jmd"), replacing the "G:" by "(I": all library items then refer to paths of form "(Install Drive):\Music\xxxx\yyyy.wma". Then I am able to play all music files.
But I have still no thumbnails/cover arts (did not find where their path is referenced :-) ), and manually patching the library each time I import a new CD is clearly not an option.
The same issue appears when I try to import a single folder, still located on the same USB drive.
Could you do something for me?
Regards
C.M.

Could you try again using the latest build? A problem with portable installs was fixed recently.

MC had updated itself just before, so I probably had the latest (stable) one.
Where/how can I get "your" latest build?
