Title: "Can't create Playback control" error

Can you let us know if build 8.0.193 fixed it.

I hope you don't mind, but since so many people had this problem, I thought that it was worthy of its own thread.

After installing ver, 193, I went to settings/options/encoding and then selected mp3, after which I got this error message again (like the past 3-4 builds). But then I went to the endoder plugin page and downloaded the mp3 plugin, and it installed successfully this time, rather than generating the "failed to install plugin" message that I had been receiving in the past.

I have gotten this message in both 195 and 196, and I am a stand alone user (no proxy, no firewall, no nothing).

Am falling back to 7.2 again .....

I am running Windows 2000, Dell Pentium 4

Doof:  Yes - it is a home computer, and I am the sole user, logging in as Administrator.

Please try new build (8.0.197) I think we fixed the problem.

Problem solved in 80197
Good Stuff and thankyouverymuch.
Still can't get plugins through the proxy.
