Title: WebGizmo Strangeness
Post by: apb on November 09, 2014, 06:39:51 pm
Hi, I just downloaded and purchased MC 20.0.33 for Windows and am trying to get WebGizmo working. I'm noticing some strangeness:

1. The  album displays appropriately but there is no title/artists info or stop/pause/next/previous buttons visible as I would expect from the images in the wiki (this is with both latest versions of Firefox and Explorer). Sounds plays fine and when I hover over the album cover I see a bar for how far in the song is, volume control and a button to make the art full screen.

2. If the window is resized the cover art disappears (happens in both Firefox and Explorer)

3. Just a note, but when looking at the page source there is an invalid </div> tag.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, still experiencing the issue today using 20.0.62. No help from the forum and after paying for the application I found out there doesn't seem to be any technical support except for the forum 8-(.

I can confirm this has some issues on chrome as well.
there are not navigation icons. play pause..
The album is there but if i resize the browser it disappears.
If i hit full screen it also disappears.

Don't think that'll help.

I had occasion to use WebGizmo yesterday and noticed the same thing. Just checked and still no transport controls using 21.0.42.

However, I've just noticed that the behaviour is different depending on what you are playing to. Playing on the server gives the old display with transport controls (http://192.168.0.12:52199/Gizmo/playingnow.html) playing to "here" gives the not properly working display (http://192.168.0.12:52199/Gizmo/play_html5.html?LibraryLocation=1792&Token=NVJFJ6tu).

A bit more experimentation reveals lots of inconsistency.

Using Palemoon (Firefox fork) or IE11 on the PC gives the same result, plays with a display of coverart with no apparent controls. If you hover over it you see track durations, a line show position in track (which you can drag), volume control and full screen switch. No track skip buttons. Clicking on the coverart toggles pause.

Playing in Chrome on an old Android tablet shows track forward and back buttons but doesn't actually play. Playing in Firefox on an old Android tablet downloads a playlist file, but doesn't actually do anything. Trying on a newer Android phone gives similar failures.

JRemote and EOS both play happily to the same mobile devices that fail with WebGizmo.

I can confirm BillT's  obvservation that playing to "here" demonstrates the problem, but playing to "player" does not.
