Title: reload
Post by: bjonz on January 28, 2002, 01:28:08 pm
I would like to delete and reload MJ 7.2.  What program do I need to read my registration code?  If I uninstall can I just redownload and then verify my registration?

why not just uninstall it?

What?

What?

Why Not Just Uninstall Using "Add & Remove Programs" In Windows

then re-download or re-install

And A better Question Would be Why Do you want to do all this?

Help -> Backup License

Make sure to save it somewhere besides the MJ folder. Preferably in a few different locations, including a floppy disk.

He's having problems with MJ importing files and then not being able to find them.

You could also try to create a new database using the Library Manager.

But I would still highly highly highly recommend backing your license anyway.

Trust me. Next Page

Let me clarify.  After purchasing MJ 7.2 it refused to play any files.  Each time I start the program it takes me to the startup window to search for music files. After files are imported it refuses to play any files i get a window that says MJ could not locate these files in the library.  I would like to un-install and re-install to see if that would fix it.  I am open to suggestions,  This is frustarting.  The program has not worked well since i first downloaded it. I assume that after I uninstall I will need to restore my license.  When Itry to open the .rrg file with my license, windows asks me what program I would like to use to do this.  So far notepad has given the best results but there is still some unclear text in the resulting document and I am reticent to un-install if i won't be able to restore my license.

After you reinstall it, just go to Help -> Restore License

It will then ask you where the .rrg file is located.

Can you post a sample pathname of one of your files?

(ie C:\My Music\Metallica\Ride The Lightning\Metallica - Fade to Black.mp3)

Is this happening with all of your files?

Here is a sample path:
C:\Documents and Settings\Brian\My Documents\My Music\Alice in Chains\Sap

Yes none of my files will play.

The WMA files could be encrypted.  Can you play one if you drag it from Windows Explorer onto the lower left window of MJ?
