Title: Help JRiver Media Home
Post by: phr0zen on November 18, 2014, 04:57:33 pm
I was wondering if it is possible to set up my whole home with jriver, i have only tested it with dual monitors(detached video) and one audio out i just have my laptop with me I'm away for work.

Basically what i want to do is
run 5 different zones

Zone 1 - Theater room
5.1 audio and DP video

Zone 2 - living room
5.1 audio and DP video

Zone 3 - Indoor house audio
stereo audio

Zone 4 - Outdoor House audio
Stereo audio

Zone 5 - TV's Through out the house
DP video

If i get a 16 channel audio RME HSDP 9636/52 to two ADA8200 and a GPU 970GTX with triple DP out. The DAC's will be tied into a stack of crown amps
Can I set the DAC to transmit two 5.1 sources and 2 stereo, and have 3 video sources?

You will need to try it to see whether it satisfies perfectly, but in general, you can run multiple zones doing audio and video, each set differently.

The channels of the sound card need to be addressable individually.  Multiple sound cards can be used.

The wiki has a topic on Zones and another on Zone Switch.
