Title: Pono Music Store
Post by: jmone on November 21, 2014, 06:25:15 pm
Couple of Q's
- Will "normal" MC users be able to buy tracks through MC20 from the Pono Music Store
- Anyone know when the Pono Music Store "opens" for business (I see it is up but the Albums I tried just says "Comming Soon" though you can preview them)

Thanks
Nathan

They're in beta now, so the purchases aren't live yet.

I'm not certain, but I think there is a good chance the tracks will be available in MC before too long.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but having been to the Pono store, and having read several reviews, Pono doesn't appear to offer anything more than does HDtracks(?) ... Ie, 24bit FLACs. If I'm correct, what's the point of a MC Pono player?

The device uses a design by Ayre that is thought to be better than most similar devices.

The selection available now isn't yet complete.

Thanks Jim, but I was thinking of the MC software not the device(?)

Pono Music store is only open in beta format to the kickstarter folks that have received the first go-round of players.

I log into the site using the email I used for my kickstarter purchase.
I then see the prices and the shopping cart.

Currently most Pono albums are CD quality only.
In the near future they will begin to sell more high fidelity recordings.
