Title: Write Error
Post by: BobGroome on January 28, 2002, 03:52:12 am
When trying to burn a cd, I get the following error message:
Error:"Write" command failed on device 1:0:0. Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 24h 00h)

Bob,

You will get better help if you:

1. Tell us which version of MJ you are using?
2. What CD-RW hardware you have?
3. What OS you are using?
4. What other CD burning software you have installed?
5. Have you tried the Generic driver too (in Options > CD Writer settings)?
6. Anything else specific to your system/setup that might help...

I am using Mj 7.2.280; OS=Win 2000; I don't know the manufacturer of my CD/RW. It is in a Gateway box. I have Music Match, Adaptec CD writer (but your program has disabled automatic open). I'm not sure what you mean by generic driver in CD settings

Tools > Options > CD Writer Settings
It's a little check box in the upper right quadrant. It fixes that Write error problem for me. It unfortunately adds a two second gap between tracks. Maybe that will be fixed someday.

King,
That picture was taken in 1952.
Hey, wait a minute ... if you were JimH, you would know that. I don't believe you really are.

King,
Go see her more and call her often. You never know when "IT" will happen. You're never ready and you're never old enough that you don't feel like a kid again (not in the good way).
