Title: DTS-HD-MA to PCM over HDMI?
Post by: Datman on November 22, 2014, 07:13:13 pm
To try and solve a problem I may get an Oppo BDP-105 I may try watch movies from the PC and the audio and video through the HDMI input on the BDP-105.  If it is converted to PCM the way it currently handles my analog out it will work. But if it passes DTS-HD-MA as dtshdma it will not.

I got it to work what I'm not sure about is under tool the audio path may say ;  input  "48KHz 24bit 6ch from source format dts-hd ma
and  output;  48KHz 32bit 6ch using WASAPI (direct connection)

Does that mean the output has been converted from dts-hd ma to something like LPCM?

OK last try  ;D

It being a direct connection meaning no changes were made. Will my Oppo BDP 105D still read it as dts-hd ma or is it LPCM in the original 24/48. The Oppo hdmi input is not capable of decoding HD audio but can decode files as LPCM including up to 8 ch at 96k. If it remains dtshd than it is down converting to DD+.
