Title: Mono wav files
Post by: mcleaver on January 27, 2002, 11:20:45 pm
Any news on when Media Jukebox will be able to cope with mono wav files? Or is there a work around without using a different player to open wav files

I just converted all my mono wave files to stereo mp3's.

I fear a slight misunderstanding...

I receive voicemail messages as mono wav files attached to e-mail messages. A short message is about 80 KB. I don't want to even save these messages, let alone convert them. (the 80KB mono file becomes a 1.9 MB stereo file!) I just want to play them... and have now been forced to reasssociate wav files with a different player, because MJ can't play them... I gathered this was an issue that could and would be solved.

MJ should support mono WAV files without a problem.

However, MJ does not currently support ACM-codec usage for playback of compressed WAV. (which is what you probably have if it went from 80 KB -> 2MB on conversion)

Take care.
