Title: Audio playback pauses briefly when crossfading to a new album

Usually I listen to a full album at a time, with gapless playback and crossfade enabled. When an album is ending and it's time to crossfade with the next one, I often (almost always) hear a brief pause in audio playback before the crossfade begins. Known issue?

Set the prebuffering to a bigger value.

Options > Audio > Prebuffering
