I downloaded a new upgrade for MJ which first uninstalled my previous version and replaced it with v8.0.185. I downloaded another update (v8.0.189) last night and I still get "PLAYBACKENG: Failed to create TV Control". With v7.2, it worked like a charm. As soon as I installed the new version I couldn't get it to work nor can I get any answers.

We're working on that problem. Should be fixed this week.

Just wondering since mine works, do you have the latest ATI drivers?
How did you upgrade, From The Download File Or From Within MJ Help\Updates
You May want to download the update again, and install.
when all else fails, you can uninstall mj, delete the MediaJukebox folder, and reinstall MJ8 from the downloadable exe file and see what happens.
there were some MJ8 builds that (i think) messed up the data base files for the TV, doing some weard things corrected the problem.

I think Matt said that the TV control uses a dll not found on all machines. DirectX? Not sure what it was, but it will be fixed shortly.
