I just RIPed all my Christmas CDs and loaded them onto a USB drive.
I set MC to look at drive (f:) which it did and displayed all the CDs on the drive.
However, after I removed the USB the CDs still show up in MC. If I click on a track
it tells me the track is not available (which it isn't).
Question: I would like those CDs to disappear when the drive is no longer attached.
Can I do that?
Thanks,
Jay

Additional problem found.
When I stick the USB drive back in (now on D: not F:) I get multiple entries of the same songs.
And the F: guys can't be found.
TIA,
Jay

Thanks TAO.
But I still would like the CDs to be removed (not show) when drive is not plugged in.

I'm sure it must be possible, I just don't know about it but I'm sure one of the Guru's will chime in and help you set this up....

Hi TAO1857,
I tested a solution for you:
In Audio create a new view:
On Audio (right Click)> Add Library View > Select the view you like
Right click on that view > Customize view > In Settings > ... Set Rules for file display > Import/Export > Copy this:
[Media Type]=[Audio] [=ismissing([filename])]=0
In the Smartlist rules data box
Ok > ok
Rename it the way you like
The View shall present all the files that are present in the system, avoiding to show the ones on detached removable storage.
Since all my files are within my system I tested by moving a few on a USB key and it seems to work.
It may take some time to refresh the content of the library, but shall work.
Cheers

Thanks Guys,
I was out of town catching some Christmas spirit.
I will try that solution when I get my head back into JRiver.
Before I left I just deleted all the tracks from my music server,
but this solution seems much better.
btw: Not related to this, but it seems (not sure) right before I left JRiver pushed
out a new version that seems to have messed with my ASIO and a friend's as well.
Did something happen with that release? I went back to a RESTORE point and it
brought back my driver ok. But I was wondering if there is a way to stop automatic pushes
from JRiver. I did look around and didn't see a setting, but I figure I'm missing it somewhere.
Thanks again.
