Title: License key does not install as registered
Post by: AddyV on December 06, 2014, 06:17:13 am
bought upgrade to MC20 in August
I requested and  received a temporary install key yesterday.
downloaded and installed it yesterday on 2 PC's (to be on last version for reporting problem theater view - see my topic from yesterday on Forum)
on W8.1 PC the registration remains "not registered" 30 day trial
on W7 PC registration has succeeded

is there a problem with W8.1?

Just restore your license:

that does not work: when restoring the licence I receive twice a popup telling me that the license has succesfully been restored but at the registration info it remains as "unregistered" 29 days trial.

Either you have the wrong version installed or you're trying to use a Windows license on a Mac or vice versa.  Mac and PC are separate.

Please re-read the link:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Restoring_a_License

Make sure you have the right version installed.

after de-installing 20.20.0.44, download and install it again, execute the temporary install key and then entering my registration code it's all OK.

can you please have a look at my request from December 05, 2014, 03:24:06 pm concerning my personal configuration of theater view.

thanks,
AddyV

It probably won't happen, but if you run out, post here and we'll reset you.

I bought a MC20 upgrade on 7th Aug for $18.98 (£11.63 GBP) by PayPal. On 12th Dec requested a restore hoping to receive a MC20 licence. Email only contained the temporary install key for my MC19. I had previously downloaded an install key for MC20.0.48 and ran that, but as expected just got the trial version. I submitted the PayPal transaction ID and email on the PayPal support page, but it failed to 'authenticate your transaction'. Checked the PayPal transaction details and they look OK. Also the money was taken from my bank account. Have I missed something or there any other steps I can take ?

Please see the wiki topic called Restoring a License.

Did you use a different address

No I always use same address that I originally used to buy MC19. Had no trouble getting restore install key for my MC19. Had thought that MC20 licence, if it had been issued, would have come with it. Had read Wiki topic can't see what else to do.

The wiki topic has all the information you should need.  Make sure you have MC20 installed.

Been through wiki Restoring a License yet again and with no more joy.
To recap
1- bought original MC19 26/11/13 using PalPal and then MC20 07/08/14 again with PalPal and no change of address.

2-all with MC20.0.48 running. From restore page entered my registration code and email address. Then another email with Install Key- MediaCenter19 Windows-234474 type MediaCenter.20.Registation.

3-Double clicking this ( MC20 running ) .mjr file get - 'your license is not valid for media center'. Installed MC20 still trial version.

4- as previously mentioned sending PalPal Transaction ID & email from PalPal Support gets nothing. Does this mean my MC20 license does not exist or that its already installed ?
I'm foxed Jim. Do I still have a blind spot and can you suggest any further actions ?
Can you check if My MC20 license actually exists on your system in spite of my apparently successful PalPal purchase.

Both licenses are valid.  We will resend your MC20 Windows license to you via regular email.

Many thanks Deanna. Quite simple with the correct code. Why it never reached me at some earlier stage I guess will remain a mystery. Now at least a master of one or two JRiver wiki's and as the saying goes 'all's well that..etc
