+1 for the ability to play DSD 256, even if over DoP (which is enabled by a competitor's software for mac). For DACs that can handle it, such as the iFi micro iDSD, DSD 256 is incredible. Any chance of this in the foreseeable future?

I am interested in this as well.

I am interested as well. I have an OPPO HA-1 which supports DSD 258. Am I right that DoP 4x is in the windows versions of JRiver and not in the Mac version. I am using the JRiver MAC version.

Would be nice to have DSD 128 working first...

DSD 128 works just fine for me.

With a renderer in DOP ? Or Directly to the DAC ?
-
Using DOP (as I do not have an ASIO driver for my mac, which I as understand it at present is only available for and with an ExaSound DAC). I can play DSD128 files natively to the DAC (albeit via DOP), and I can set JRiver DSP output to convert my PCM files to DSD128 for the DAC (again over DOP).

Just discovered the "magic" of DSD via the Schiit "Loki" (also everything - flac, cda, etc as PCM to DSD via JRiver!!). Best $AU300 I've ever spent! I was skeptical - but the truth is in the listening!
HOWEVER - attempts to play dsf at bitrate >5644 result in error message:
"Playback could not be started on the output 'WASAPI' using format DoP 5.6Mhz 2ch"
Hours (and hours!!) of searching for an answer have turned up...... zip!
As current DSD format users - any thoughts?

The Loki can only accept DSD64, no higher bitrates…

Through a renderer sotm sms-100 it is not working in DSD 128 but it is ok in DSD 64.
So there may be a difference through a renderer or directly to the DAC .
Anyway another post is about this issue.

At last - out of my misery!
Thanks jlyness
Shame about the Loki! But for the price - can't complain!
