My favorite skin has always been the LP skin, which I've used ever since it was released, and even though I try new skins each time I upgraded MC, I always return to the LP skin. But it seems in MC20, old third-party skins are no longer supported?
-
Old skins are still supported. There may be some new features that the old skin doesn't support, like highlighting the button when we're in direct mode, but oh well.

I can't find the option to load custom skins in the new version though. It used to be in the Skin Manager, but that's missing from MC20. How do I load an old skin like LP in MC20?
-
just download it and copy it over to> program files x86> JRiver>skins

Doesn't work. I copied the LP skin (843.mjp) over to C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 20\Skins, as well as also to the Standard View folder too, but when I boot up MC20 and look in the View/Skin menu, the LP skin is not listed, and there's no option to load it like in the older version's Skin Manager.

The mjp file is an install file. You could install it and rename it.
-
I finally got it to work, by dragging it onto MC and importing it, then double-clicking on it inside MC. What is the "proper" way to install it?
-
Execute it from Explorer.

Oh man, that's so simple, yet I didn't even try it. I actually tried to change it to .exe to execute it but didn't work. I didn't think to just double-click on it, since it's not a .exe file... :P

I'm bad...thought you were speaking of a different type of file...next time i will ask what type of file...
