Title: jrss downmixing methodology ?

taking a 7.1 track and playing back on a 5.1 setup, what operations does jriver perform in relation to gain / delays to fold the rear surrounds into the rears in 5.1?

I think the four surround channels from 7.1 are matrixed into the two surround channels from 5.1.
