Hi. I was wondering how the subtract feature worked.
lets say I set source to Left and the Destination to Right.
Would this remove the common sounds from the right channel while adding the unique sounds of the left, or will it just cancel out the common sounds?
Please let me know. Thank you!

Subtracting the left from the right will result in a signal that's only the differences left on the right. Common stuff will be gone.
It's sort of academic in terms of real world usefulness.

Thank you Matt for your quick reply!
I still seem to be having a hard time understanding it, so I'll try to phrase it differently.
Lets say the Left channel had the sounds 1,2,3
and the Right channel had the sounds 1,2,4
If I were to subtract Left from Right, the same as my first example...
I understand that the sounds 1 and 2 will cancel out fromthe subtraction.
I guess the question is, would the resulting Right channel have the sounds 4 and 3, or just 4?
I'm using JRiver for my car(Which is great btw! Thank you!) and I'm trying to make a L-R differential signal for the rear fill speakers.
The other way I was thinking was to invert the right and add that to the left to get the sum of the uncommon signals, but for some reason, my gut tells me that mixing the two uncommon signals that are out if phase with each other is not optimal. I figured the subtract method would be better... I just don't know exactly how it works!
Please let me know! Thanks again!
