Hi,
Following the V20 upgrades without problem until 20.0.50.
When launching JRiver, win7 is showing me the UAC message indicating un Unknown Editor.
I have checked the "Run as admin" for all users for the exe, no luck.
The only option so far has been to remove the UAC control in order to start JRiver upon windows startup.
I have seen another comment on UAC in the forum, but no comments..
Anybody else having the problem/solution?

Unknown Editor?
Does it give you any options?
-
The UAC popup window shows:
Title (translating from a Spanish win7): Do you want to permit this program from an unknown publisher to apply some changes to the system?
Program Name: Media Center 20.exe
Editor: Unknown (in bold)
Origin: Hard disk
The options given are Yes/No
Clicking Yes obviously starts JRiver.

Anyone with same problem?
-
NOPE...do you have it set to high?
and i just had a hd meltdown on one of my pc's so i did a new install with ver .50 and no problems
-
I desinstalled ver .50 (kept the library), re-installed and I'm on the same problem.
May be I should try a "full" remove, cleaning up registry and the like ...
Never did it so far and not ready to loose my library...
I have the UAC set to none to avoid the popup.

ok lets take a look at the actual .exe...find it via start> all programs> JRiver...do a right click on the blue JRiver icon and then choose properties, a box opens if at the top of that box has more than 5 tabs your where i want you to be...the tab to look at is "Shortcut", what I'm looking for is "Run:" this should say normal window...now click the "Compatibility tab"...we do not want the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' checked if its checked uncheck it, none of the "Settings" should have a check, last is the Privilege Level, we do not want this checked...my guess is that this is checked and is causing you the problem. and or if any of the things listed above had a check and u changed them, close out of everything and shut down the pc don't just click reboot shut the pc off and turn it back on, change your uac back to default and start JR and see what happens....if none of the above were not changed then the reboot is nill as nothing was changed...I would be curious to know if any of this was of help to u....

Thanks a lot ;D
Privilege Level was set to admin.. I reset it, set back the UAC to default, shut down. Power up ... and it's resolved. JRiver starts automatically without problem, no more UAC message.
Have a great end of year and an happy new one!!!
