I am using the "Rename, Move & Copy" function within Library Tools to try to have one set of tags point to an identically named file in another directory. I.e., the "base directory" changes, but the right-hand-most part of the filename stays exactly the same. I am getting a "Something went wrong with playback" error. I think I know what is wrong, but before I give up the ghost I thought I'd check. My original library files are .dsf. The files I am pointing them to are .aif. I had hoped that manually changing the extensions to the filenames so they were identical would make this work, but apparently not. Anyone know how to convince JRiver to do what I want it to do? Thanks. -- David

Did you change the [filetype] tag too? That would probably need to be done as well.

Fitbrit -- YES!!!! When I changed the filetype to match the filetype being pointed to (.aif) it worked (not both .dsf, which was the original tag). Thanks so much for the thought. -- David

Glad it worked out - I've been there before, so that's why I suspected it.

Fitbrit -- As 2014 comes to a close, I hope you'll accept my thanks not just to you, but as a proxy for all the other "citizens of the universe" on JRiver interact -- you guys (and gals, presumably) for all you do to help us get the most out of JRiver. It really is appreciated! --- David
P.S. -- You've inspired me to do a more proper thanks on a new thread, so please excuse the redundancy. ;<]
