Title: Moving imported video to a different view
Post by: Twcarter on January 05, 2015, 10:11:00 am
All video I import goes to the view called Files. How can I move the imported video to a different view like Home Movies or is there a way to select a different view it will be imported to by default.

A file isn't imported to a view.  Files are imported to the library....The views are configured to show certain files in the library based on their properties (tags)

If you right click on video, add library view a new view will be made called "new library view"
Right click on this, and choose customize view
A window will pop up, in the middle column (settings), choose ...set rules for file display
In rules, choose media sub type is home video

Then finally, make sure the file itself has the tag home video set for media sub type

You can make as many rules as you want to make the view show any files that you want....just remember the files have to be tagged properly or the view won't work

Thank you very much! That really clears it up for me.
