I am using JRiver Media Center in combination with a Moon Mind 180 streaming device via DLNA.
In Mc 18 is experienced some occasional drop outs... following by some time where MC had difficulties to find the streaming device again. Sometimes rebooting the modem for 10 times or so helped. sometimes I just had to wait several hours. Sometimes it work for just 3 songs. When it worked it did work very consistent until something happened like a crashing MC or a laptop running out of power, or after windows update. Then all troubles started over and over again (dropping out for some tume after some songs until it suddenly start working without problems again....
I upgraded to MC 20 and I experience exactly the same behaviour. It worked most of the time.
But now for a week MC does not recognise the media renderer anymore (windows 8 does recognise it though).
I updated firmware, resetted al settings, reinstalled Media Center 20... but nothing helps.
Please help me checking some things... since all my playlists are in MC and I really love the functionality and the Mind 180 is a wonderfull device.

I checked my firewall settings for MC 20. I think they are ok
I have MC version 20.052
Earlier I noticed that I had both MC 18 en MC 20 installed. So I did an uninstall of MC 18. Unfortunately the uninstall program left some parts and was not able to remove them. So I removed them manually (directory).
Could this cause a problem ?
Thanks for your help !
Kind regards !

I'm thinking you might have run into the DLNA bug introduced in 20.0.48. You could try a revision before that or wait since it will be fixed in the next build.

Thanks for the suggestion.... I downgraded to MC version 19... I now have 2 parallel installs on my computer.
I also reconfigured the dlna settings in MC 19 (not re-using the existing settings)
Unfortunately after a restart MC still doesn't detect my renderer. It shows in Windows though
In the control panel I also have all options for mediastreaming enabled.
Some suggestions ?

The parallel installs aren't an issue just don't run them at the same time.
I was suggesting you just use a MC 20 build before 20.0.52.
Also, turn windows media sharing OFF. It's SSDP server seems to interfere with MC's in some situations.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already turned off Windows media Sharing.
I did also uninstall AVG antivirus programm.
Now..... I discovered that the renderer isn't connected in Windows 8 at all.
It looked like it since within the Windows menu 'printers and devices'the renderer was showed (it was working previously), but not connected. But some devices were still working despite of their status ere also not connected.
I deleted the device from the menu and tried to reconnect.
Unfortunately Windows 8 does not discover the renderer anymore.....
Also my blue ray player (I removed it also from the devices panel) is not rediscovered
In the meantime I play my music via Media Center and an apple airport...I am pretty desparate to get my hq renderer to work again
I will try to disable the firewall....
Any suggestions.... Much appreciated !

What are the IP addresses of your PC(s) and renderer(s)? And are these devices connected via a "router" or via a "switch"?
Background: The UPnP SSDP discovery datagrams are multicast to all devices that are physically connected to a network. And a "switch" will (probably) always forward SSDP datagrams to all devices. On the other hand a "router" may or may not forward those datagrams to other devices; in particular if they are on different subnets. (The subnet is defined by the three leftmost triads of the IP address e.g. 192.168.1.xxx )

Did you power everything (including all network devices) down and back up?

Good point!
Another think to look for the in the router is "multicast filtering" which should be off.
On some devices if it's on, it can block multicast from the wireless to the wired part of the same lan.

Thanks voor all suggestions... It was the update to the latest built that made it work again. Thanks !!!!
